Intellectual Ventures, a patent holding company, has filed a patent infringement suit against DSL providers AT&T, CenturyLink and Windstream Communications.
The suit, filed on 8 February in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas, alleges that the named DSL internet services violate some of the patents in Intellectual Ventures’ portfolio, which they say cover “fundamental and important aspects of DSL technology and services.”
Intellectual Ventures, which says it has invested billions of dollars in its patent portfolio and is seeking licensing deals, previously filed suit against AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile in the US District Court of Delaware in February 2012.
AT&T, CenturyLink and Windstream have not yet responded in court. A copy of the suit is available here [pdf].
