DRM Thwarts Gordon Brown’s Effort To Enjoy Gift From Barack Obama

United Kingdom Prime Minister Gordon Brown was not able to watch the classic American movies presented to him by President Barack Obama thanks to digital rights management technologies, reported the UK press. The technology used in this particular case restricts the part of the world in which a DVD will play – the DVDs purchased from the US will not play on DVD players purchased in the UK.

  1. “…the DVDs purchased from the US will not play on DVD players purchased in the UK.”

Aha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!
Actually, at first I thought it was funny that these two so-called “socialists” couldn’t work out between them that these videos wouldn’t work in “europe”. Then it hit me. These two idiots are in charge of their respective state’s military. God help us all.
I gather they can’t read dvd labels!

  2. The irony is even more acute- in many if not all such dvds is stated that (try stop framing or screen snapping) even just the PLAYING dvds outside the region defined on the dvd is an offence

Looks like the RIAA is all ready to add ‘Gordon Brown, 10 Downing St, England’ to their huge list of John Doe cases to start criminal copyright violation actions doesnt it?

Gordon Brown had better be extremely careful landing in the USa after ACTA is passed dont you think?
