In the ongoing WHO debate over the sharing of virus strains and benefits accruing from that sharing (including potential patenting), Indonesia has been facing off against much of the developed world and its industry in seeking new strong measures to ensure developing countries receive fair and equitable treatment. The Indonesian health minister presented the country’s allegations of unfair treatment and proposal for an improved system.
