New Leadership At INTA

The International Trademark Association today announced the appointment of its 2011 president, the first INTA president from a non-English speaking country.

The International Trademark Association today announced the appointment of its 2011 president, Gerhard Bauer, who is chief trademark counsel of Daimler AG in Germany. Bauer is the first INTA president from a non-English speaking country.

Bauer was president elect and chair of the Planning Committee at INTA in 2010. He previously served as treasurer and chair of the Finance Committee in 2007, vice president in 2008-2009, and has been on the Board of Directors since 2004. INTA has members from over 190 countries. In a statement, Bauer signalled a strong focus on enforcement and protection.

The other INTA officers in 2011 are: Gregg Marrazzo, Estee Lauder Companies (president elect); Toe Su Aung, BATMark Limited (vice president); Bret Parker, Elizabeth Arden, Inc (vice president); Mei-lan Stark, Fox Entertainment Group (treasurer); Lucy Nichols, Nokia Corporation (secretary) and Dale Cendali, Kirkland & Ellis LLP, counsel.
