The Peer to Patent programme, a United States patent community review platform, has been expanded and re-launched with a new interface. The service seeks to help patent examiners search for prior art with the help of the public. The Peer to Patent programme now can handle applications from multiple patent offices, according to a press release. It also has extended the list of classifications that are considered for review. New classifications include organic compounds, telecommunications and life sciences.
Peer to Patent is operated out of New York University Law School in cooperation with the US Patent and Trademark Office in an effort to improve the quality of patents and “the patent system as a whole,” according to the release.
