Change At Top Of European Music Industry Group

The head of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) is stepping down after five years in office, and his successor has been named from within the organisation.

John Kennedy, chairman and CEO, said he was returning to a longstanding plan to start a “business management-agency business representing talent in the world of music, film, sport, TV and theatre.”

Frances Moore, current IFPI vice president and regional director for Europe, will step into Kennedy’s shoes. Moore has made her career in government relations and public affairs, representing European and US companies in the electronics and retail sector before joining IPFI in 1994.

“I have seen the business transform itself, constantly producing new ideas and models to drive itself forward.” she said in a release. “That is why, even in these most challenging times, I find this industry inspiring to work for.”
